MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Eduardo Escobar got a career-high five hits, including a homer and a triple, and the Minnesota Twins batted around twice in a 20-6 rout of the Detroit Tigers on Friday night. The 20 runs are the most in a major league game this season. The Tigers dropped to 2½ games behind Kansas City in the AL Central race.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Reggie Bush broke free for an 86-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, one of only a few offensive highlights Friday night as the Detroit Lions edged the Jacksonville Jaguars 13-12 in a penalty-filled game. Calvin Johnson played for the first time this preseason, catching two passes for 27 yards, but Matthew Stafford was intercepted once and the Lions struggled in the red zone. The teams combined for 27 penalties.

YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) - An Oklahoma City police officer accused of committing a series of sexual assaults while on duty played football at Eastern Michigan. Daniel Ken Holtzclaw was a four-year starter at the Ypsilanti school from 2005-08, and holds the school record for most career starts. The 27-year-old Holtzclaw was arrested Thursday on complaints of rape, forcible oral sodomy, sexual battery and indecent exposure.

DETROIT (AP) - A judge has dismissed rape charges against former Detroit Tigers pitcher Evan Reed. The judge says a woman's testimony wasn't credible and that prosecutors failed to show that force or coercion took place. Reed appeared in 27 games for Detroit before being sent to his current assignment with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens.
