Elmhurst Girls on the Run Food Drive

Girls on the run of Northwest Ohio Elmhurst chapter is holding a non-perishable food drive for the Cherry Street Mission. All chapters do a community service project each season and the girls decided they wanted to help those less fortunate. Pull up the Elmhurst Grade school pick up line and the girls will take your donations from you. You wont even have to gt out of your car!

The parade route starts on Summit Street, travels down Jackson Street and Huron Avenue, and ends on Washington Street.
Toledo, OH- Kick off your holiday season at one of the largest parades in the Midwest, The Blade Holiday Parade in downtown Toledo.
Sponsored by Taylor Family Automotive and the Distinguished Clown Corps, the parade will step off at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2017.
To mark its 30th year, the parade will be filled with entertainment you will not find anywhere else. There will be plenty of holiday cheer to go around with performances by Bo Steele of The Band Steele. A World War II Avenger and B-28 will fly over the parade route as part of a salute to all area veterans.
This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Alden Hirschfeld, captain of the Toledo Walleye. Hirschfeld is in his fifth season with his hometown team. Hirschfeld is a Sylvania native, who graduated from Northview High School.
The parade will have more than 80 units including color guards, giant balloons, clowns, marching bands, and dance teams. And don’t forget jolly ‘ole St. Nick himself. Santa Claus will go from the parade to Imagination Station to hear wishes from area boys and girls.

On Behalf of the Hope within Toledo Reentry Initiative, we would like to extend a Formal Invitation to our “Kick Off” reception for: “All Lives Matter Including Black Lives”.
This has been a great concern of top priority in our community and has increased its ugly head constantly placing our families, neighborhoods and youth in danger it is “Young Black on Black Crime”. We need help and a strategic plan on how to confront this issue. Apostle Thomas Mitchell would like extend this invitation to you. We know that you firmly support such plans and factors that can help keep our neighborhoods safe. Therefore, we are inviting your presence at this meeting.
On Saturday, November 11, the conference will run from 9:00 am-4:30 pm with free breakfast. You will be responsible for your own paid lunch. The day will include plenaries, panels, and breakout sessions. There also will be other Churches and their Pastors, Faith-Based Leaders from the community and other Reentry Project partners and a network of other professionals serving the reentry populations throughout Ohio discussing other matters of concern. You are all welcome to invite others to the Reentry Conference given by” Hope Within Prison Reentry Transitional Housing Initiative”.

The Organization for Bat Conservation of Pontiac, Michigan is bringing its "Basically Bats" live animal program to the Toledo WBU store to deliver a positive and educational experience with one of nature's truly amazing animals.
Live animals will include a native Big Brown Bat, Jamaican Leaf-Nosed Bat and a Straw-Colored Fruit Bat.

Rossford High School Drama Department, under the direction of Julie Zatko and Ryan Mahaffey, will present the 2012 Tony Award winning play, "Peter and the Starcatcher", November 9th-12th.

New TIMES!! Starting EARLY at 7pm now to accommodate families. Thursday through Saturday performances at 7pm and a Sunday matinee at 2pm.

Peter and the Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan based on the popular teen book series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The script, jam-packed with poetry, toilet humor and numerous nods to current pop culture, is a coming-of-age adventure story about how a nameless adolescent orphan -- inspired by a remarkable and ambitious girl -- became the iconic hero that is the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.
