Ray Johnston, retired U.S. Army Veteran and member of the Medal of Honor Historical Society of the United States will discuss his effort to discover and correct document errors and ensure that each recipient is properly recognized graveside throughout the country. The parade route starts on Summit Street, travels down Jackson Street and Huron Avenue, and ends on Washington Street.
Toledo, OH- Kick off your holiday season at one of the largest parades in the Midwest, The Blade Holiday Parade in downtown Toledo.
Sponsored by Taylor Family Automotive and the Distinguished Clown Corps, the parade will step off at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2017.
To mark its 30th year, the parade will be filled with entertainment you will not find anywhere else. There will be plenty of holiday cheer to go around with performances by Bo Steele of The Band Steele. A World War II Avenger and B-28 will fly over the parade route as part of a salute to all area veterans.
This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Alden Hirschfeld, captain of the Toledo Walleye. Hirschfeld is in his fifth season with his hometown team. Hirschfeld is a Sylvania native, who graduated from Northview High School.
The parade will have more than 80 units including color guards, giant balloons, clowns, marching bands, and dance teams. And don’t forget jolly ‘ole St. Nick himself. Santa Claus will go from the parade to Imagination Station to hear wishes from area boys and girls.
The parade route starts on Summit Street, travels down Jackson Street and Huron Avenue, and ends on Washington Street.

bd’s Mongolian Grill Hosts Fundraiser to Benefit Folds of Honor Foundation

In an effort to support the spouses and children of United States fallen and disabled military members, popular create-your-own stir-fry restaurant bd’s Mongolian Grill is hosting a campaign to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to provide educational scholarships for spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. During the fundraiser held through October 30 to November 12, bd’s will sell $2 pin-up slips in exchange for $5 gift cards valid toward another visit to the restaurant. A portion of all dine-in proceeds on Thursday, November 9 from 11 am – 10 pm will be donated to Folds of Honor. Participating locations include: Cleveland, Beavercreek, Easton, Sawmill and Toledo.

Rossford High School Drama Department, under the direction of Julie Zatko and Ryan Mahaffey, will present the 2012 Tony Award winning play, "Peter and the Starcatcher", November 9th-12th.

New TIMES!! Starting EARLY at 7pm now to accommodate families. Thursday through Saturday performances at 7pm and a Sunday matinee at 2pm.

Peter and the Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan based on the popular teen book series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The script, jam-packed with poetry, toilet humor and numerous nods to current pop culture, is a coming-of-age adventure story about how a nameless adolescent orphan -- inspired by a remarkable and ambitious girl -- became the iconic hero that is the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.
