Toledo (13abc Action News) Less than 24 hours after Hillary Clinton faced off against Donald Trump in their first debate of the presidential campaign, her husband, former President Bill Clinton was at Waite High School in Toledo campaigning on her behalf.

Mr. Clinton echoed many of the main themes Hillary Clinton has been sounding throughout the campaign: civil rights and protecting American workers.

"Working class Americans feel like the harder they work, the farther they fall behind," the former president told the crowd.

Mr. Clinton also addressed Donald Trump's call to build a wall between the United States and Mexico.

"She wants to relate to the rest of the world with bridges not walls," he said of his wife's position on foreign affairs.

Mrs. Clinton is campaigning today in North Carolina. Mr. Trump is on the campaign trail today in Florida.
