Brigette Burnett

Brigette Burnett is ecstatic to do what she loves and closer to her family and friends in Detroit. Just a short ride down I-75, she knew joining the 13abc Action News team as a General Assignment Reporter was a no brainer.

Burnett began her responsibilities at 13abc in December of 2015. Since then, she has focused on sharpening her skills as a journalist. From covering an accidental death where a man killed his fiancé on New Year’s Day, to a benefit for a child with an aging disease, Burnett will tackle any story.

Before heading to Toledo, Burnett anchored the only top rated newscasts at WAND-TV for three years. Prior to working for WAND, she was a fill-in anchor, multi-media journalist and producer in Mid-Michigan. However, she got her start as a journalist at NewsChannel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin.

She is a proud graduate of Columbia College Chicago where she earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her drive and high G.P.A. helped her land several coveted internships. She interned at WMAQ and The Publicity Works in Chicago, Illinois, as well as, WXYZ in Southfield, Michigan.

Burnett enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has been dancing since she was three years old and her goal as a child was to be a professional ballet dancer. As many times as they lose, Burnett is still a proud Lions fan. She is passionate about telling stories that matter, so if you have a story idea send them her way!
