TOLEDO (WTVG) - The Lucas County Courthouse was treated for bed bugs after they were discovered on the fourth floor of the historic building.
Dozens of people go in and out of the Lucas County Courthouse in downtown Toledo.
Court Administrator Brian Patrick said bed bugs were found in Courtroom 8 on Wednesday.
Patrick said a court deputy saw a bed bug and then employees started searching for more.
They might have been there for awhile because Patrick said the bugs were laying eggs.
Pest control sprayed the courthouse requiring that certain areas of the courthouse were closed for 24 hours.
Those areas reopened Friday morning.
A technician says the county will need to schedule two additional treatments to be sure the bed bugs are completely and permanently removed from the courthouse.
