Third body found at Cooley Canal

JERUSALEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) - A third body has been found near the scene of a deadly crash earlier this week.

Authorities found the bodies of Joshua Cassady, 41, and Kimberly Cassady, 51, both of Toledo, on Tuesday. Another driver spotted a vehicle overturned in Cooley Canal off of Bono Road, prompting the water rescue.

Oregon police tell 13abc dive teams found a third body in the canal. The person's identify has not yet been released.

A trooper says Cassady's vehicle went off the road into the canal. The car overturned. The victims were found dead inside. There was also a dog inside the vehicle who survived.

Highway patrol Lt. Shaun Robinson says the car went off a narrow, ice-slicked road and down an embankment before ending up in the canal. Robinson estimates that the car was in the water around 10 minutes before being discovered by a passer-by.

The Lucas County Coroner's Office will determine how the victims died.
