TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A water main break created a slick and partially frozen hazard Tuesday morning on the 1700 block of Airport Highway.
The underground pipe burst sometime during the 5:00AM hour Tuesday, at the start of the morning commute.
Toledo city workers placed orange barrels in the street near Airport and Storrs, alerting drivers to the water, which was spilling from a nearby parking lot onto the roadway.
A salt truck also came out to help melt the ice as it formed in the eastbound lanes.
The City of Toledo issued a boil advisory for customers on Airport Highway between Ralph St. and 1843 Airport Hwy. The city says 30 customers are impacted and should boil their water before use until Saturday, January 6, 2018.
While the boil advisory is in effect, the city strongly advises customers to bring all water for personal consumption to a boil, let it boil for at least three minutes and then let it cool before use. Boiled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and for all food preparation.
