Alzheimer's disease costs are increasing dramatically

(TOLEDO) - Many of us know someone touched by Alzheimer’s Disease but new statistics show the disease is taking an increasing toll on individuals and families in America.

The Alzheimer’s Association will release new data later this month. But it’s clearly that Alzheimer’s-related costs for families and society have increased by $20 billion from the previous year. More Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and deaths from the disease have more than doubled since 2000.

The Northwest Ohio Alzheimer’s Association is working to help. The local chapter provides many programs and services with a major fundraising event on Saturday, March 10. “Bright Lights, Big City” is the theme for this year’s gala at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg.
Check in begins at 6:00pm with the dinner and program following at 7:00pm. There will be music and a silent auction.
