Car stranded in flood waters in Lenawee County

MADISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WTVG) - Lenawee County dispatchers say that emergency crews responded to a car stranded in high water on Carleton Rd west of Graham in Madison Township.

This is not far from the Lenawee County Airport.

The driver tells 13abc that he was heading westbound on Carelton Road around 5:00 AM when he hit an area with about 4 feet of water. He says he climbed out of his car and onto the roof, and called for help when a passerby saw him. He walked back to emergency crews unharmed.

That driver has been cited with careless driving.

The sheriff’s office says this is an area prone to flooding.

Sheriff's deputies in Lenawee County say that many roads throughout the county are flooded right now. Drivers need to use extreme caution, and seek alternative routes when they encounter flooded roads.
