Cinemark launches subscription service for movie-goers

WTVG - Cinemark is launching a new subscription service, aimed at competing against other entertainment programs like Netflix.

The company unveiled its new service called "Movie Club" on Tuesday. The program costs $8.99 per month.

That subscription price will get users one free ticket to a 2D movie each month. The subscriber can also purchase a guest ticket at $8.99. Benefits also include additional movie tickets priced at $8.99 after the first ticket is redeemed and 20% off concessions. Active members can also roll over unused tickets.

The company owns nearly 350 theaters across the country, including locations at Franklin Park Mall in Toledo, Fallen Timbers in Maumee and Levis Commons in Perrysburg.
