HENRIETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WTVG) - Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that a 21-year-old woman is dead after they say she attempted a U-turn on the Turnpike.

The crash happened just after 5:00 AM Friday morning.

According to a press release from the Milan Post, 21-year-old Summer Scott of Cleveland was westbound on the Turnpike when she drove onto the right berm, and appeared to attempt a U-turn. Troopers say she drove into the path of a semi, driven by Jacqueline Hoxie, 53, of Seneca, IL. 60-year-old Kevin Kinser of Marseilles, IL was a passenger in the semi.

Troopers say that both individuals in the semi suffered minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital. Summer Scott suffered fatal injuries.

Troopers say that both drivers were wearing seat belts, but alcohol and/or drugs appear to have been a factor.
