Deep freeze may lengthen winter break for some schools

HOLLAND, Ohio (13abc Action News) - School buses are expected to roll Wednesday as more schools resume after winter break.

Many wonder if the deep freeze will put a damper on plans as they did Tuesday.

The transportation department at Springfield Local Schools began starting the busses Tuesday morning.

Those busses were plugged into block heaters and will remain running overnight to make sure students are warm during their commute to school.

Superintendent Matt Geha tells 13 abc that the heat was turned up in school buildings but he urged students to bring an extra sweatshirt to school. He also hopes parents will bundle up the kids tomorrow.
