Detroit doesn't make cut for Amazon HQ2; Columbus does

SEATTLE (13abc Action News) - Months ago, cities around North America submitted resumes to Amazon. They all wanted to be the site for HQ2 - the online retail giant's second headquarters.

This morning, Amazon released its 20 finalists. Cities like Toledo and Maumee submitted applications, but didn't make the cut. Neither did Detroit. But, according to Amazon's official release, Columbus is still in the mix.

According to the New York Times, "The process will now shift into a new phase, with Amazon representatives communicating more directly with finalist cities as they prepare to select a winner later this year, and perhaps with cities being even more outspoken about why they should be chosen."
