Developer picks 58 acres in Maumee while Southwyck sits vacant

MAUMEE - (13abc, Action News) - Land currently owned by Norfolk Southern, will soon be developed to included mixed use.

The 58 acre sites is bordered by Ford Street, the Anthony Wayne Trail and Canary Road. A local developer will soon acquire the site then begin construction in the Spring.

Plans include a 9,000 square foot doctors' facility, a hotel, restaurant and assisted living center.

Millions of dollars will be invested and hundreds of jobs will be created, although at this time, exact numbers are not available.

Some local businesses and homes will be impacted.
