Downed wires stopped traffic near Detroit, Anthony Wayne Trail

MAUMEE, Ohio (WTVG) - Downed power lines stopped traffic Monday along the Anthony Wayne Trail near Detroit.

According to Toledo police, a transformer on a nearby pole malfunctioned around 6:00 p.m. and wires connected to it fell across the Trail.

Crews with Toledo Edison worked quickly to make repairs to the damaged pole.

The power company's website shows 1,500 customers are affected by the incident.

Power is expected to be restored by 9:00 p.m. and the busy stretch of road has since reopened.
