Downtown road closures, TARTA service for Toledo JeepFest

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The City of Toledo has announced multiple traffic restrictions and road closures in downtown for JeepFest this weekend.

Parking will be prohibited from Friday at 5:30 PM through Sunday at 1:00 PM on the following streets:
- Jefferson: Superior to Summit
- Madison: Huron to St. Clair
- St. Clair: Jefferson to Adams

The City advises event guests to use TARTA shuttles, which will depart from the Park-N-Ride location at the Franklin Park Mall (Royer Road, near Old Navy) and drop off at the intersection of Washington and St. Clair Streets. TARTA has announced that it will offer shuttles twice per hour from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturday. Return service will be available. The company has released the following guidelines for the service this weekend:

• Adults and children age six and older: $1.25
• Children under age six: free (with an adult, limit two free fares)
• Seniors age 65+: 60¢ (with reduced fare TARTA ID or Medicare ID)
• Persons with disabilities: 60¢ (with reduced fare TARTA ID or Medicare ID)
• Registered TARPS customers ride free with proper ID
• University of Toledo Students, Staff, and Faculty ride free with valid Rocket Card

Tow trucks will be on duty to remove vehicles illegally parked prior to and throughout the event.

On Saturday, August 11, beginning at 8:00 AM, traffic will be restricted for the Jeep Parade in the areas bounded by Huron Street, Jackson Street, Summit Street, and Lafayette Street. This also includes Water Street, Owens Corning Parking Lot, and Washington Street East of Summit. The Parade will begin at 11:00 AM on Summit near Washingon, and end at approximately 12:30 PM on Huron at Jackson. After the Parade, traffic will be allowed on Summit, Washington, and Monroe Streets in the Festival area.

On Sunday, August 12, the JeepFest 4-Miler Run/Walk will step off at 8:30 AM at Summit and Jefferson Streets, proceed north on Summit, west on Cherry, south on Huron, east on Lafayette, south on St. Clair, east on Newton, south on Dr. MLK Jr. Drive, north on Wade, and east on Williams. The race will continue on Ottawa Street, west on Monroe, north on Huron, east on Adams, and south on Summit Street to Promenade Park. During the 4-Miler Run/Walk, there will be temporary road closures on the following streets, beginning at 8:00 AM:

- Eastbound Cherry: Spielbusch to Summit
- Huron: Lafayette to Cherry
- Newton: Erie to Summit
- Summit: Newton to Cherry
- Woodville and Oak
- Woodville and Clark

Local traffic will be permitted when it does not create a safety problem for participants or spectators.

Festival Road closures for Sunday will occur on the following streets starting at approximately 8:00 AM and ending at 1:00 PM:

- Jefferson: Huron to Summit
- Madison: Huron to St. Clair
- Adams Street: Huron to Summit
- St. Clair: Jefferson to Jackson
- Superior: Madison to Jackson

Parking will be prohibited for the following streets from Saturday, August 11, at 8:00 AM to Sunday, August 12, at 1:00 PM, for the Festival, Car Show Areas, and Vendor Midway:

- Adams Street: Huron to Summit
- Huron: Lafayette to Summit
- Jefferson: Huron to Summit
- Madison: Huron to Summit
- Monroe: Huron to Summit
- St. Clair: Lafayette to Monroe, Jefferson to Jackson
- Summit Street: Lafayette to Jackson
- Superior: Lafayette to Washington, Monroe to Jackson, Madison to Jackson
- Washington: Huron to Summit
- Water Street: Jefferson to Monroe
