TOLEDO, OH (13abc Action News) – Snow depth records go back to 1948 in Toledo, and 4 of those years had snow on the ground Thanksgiving morning. There were several more years on record with snow melting on contact. 1" of snow was recorded on Thanksgiving morning in 1970. The snowiest Thanksgiving morning was recorded in 1975 with 3" on the ground. 2" of snow was on the ground in 1985, and the last time we had a White Thanksgiving was in 2005 with 2". The yearly chance for 1" of snow on the ground Thanksgiving morning is about 6%, but this year it is around 0%.
