Elementary school cleared after bomb threat, all students safe

FREMONT, Ohio (WTVG) - A Fremont City School elementary building was evacuated Friday morning after a bomb threat. According to the district, someone called the threat in to Croghan Elementary School at the start of the day.

Fremont Police brought in K-9s and officers to search the school. The building was cleared. The district says nothing was found. The school sent students to a nearby church during the search. Students have since returned to Croghan Elementary and classes have since resumed.

The district utilized its phone and text alert system to warn parents about the bomb threat. It used the same system to alert parents that the building was clear and police had deemed it safe for students to return.
