TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo police now say a bomb threat received by Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) was not credible.
Toledo Police and the Lucas County Sheriff's office are investigating the incident and have deemed the situation to be safe. In a report, police said "it was determined through the investigation that the threats to the Lucas County Children Services were false." Police say that they know who made the false call and charges are pending r further investigation.
LCCS says operations will continue as normal. There may be extra uniformed personnel in and around the building as a precaution.
Lucas County Children Services Executive Director Robin Reese released the following statement:
"The safety and security of LCCS clients and staff is of the utmost importance and we will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement to ensure that continues. To that end, local authorities encourage you to always remain aware of your surroundings and to immediately report any unusual activity. In other words, "see something, say something."
