Fall begins with near record heat

TOLEDO, OH (13abc Action News) – Fall officially arrives at 4:02pm Friday afternoon. Around that time temperatures will be reaching their daily peak of 90-degrees with a heat index in the upper 90s. Fall typically starts each year on either September 22nd or 23rd. After you sort through the record book with the correct starting date of autumn, you find that 91-degrees is the hottest start to fall on record in Toledo. We have a chance to break, tie, or near that record Friday afternoon. The daily record high on today's date is 93° which was set back in 1895. The first day of fall that year was a day later on September 23rd.
