Findlay police arrest suspect after 40 mile pursuit

FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - Findlay police were involved in a high speed pursuit overnight.

It started when they tried to pull over a driver for a stop light violation.

Officers tried to make that stop near Tiffin Avenue and Fostoria Avenue when the driver sped off.

Police say the chase ran for 40 miles, exceeding speeds of 100 mph.

It finally ended northeast of Tiffin when the car crashed and rolled over.

Police say the driver, 36-year-old SirLawrence Payne, was taken into custody after being treated for minor injuries.

Police say Payne was wanted on two outstanding warrants.

He now faces an additional felony count of failure to comply with an officer.
