TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Toledo firefighters are on scene of a house fire on the 4200 block of Caroline.
Firefighters on scene tell 13abc that a man was inside of the home at the time the flames broke out, but he made it out safely.
Crews are battling the flames defensively, meaning that they are staying outside of the house to put out the fire.
They're also battling dangerous cold while putting out the fire. In fact, firefighters say that accessing water from fire hydrants has been challenging, with hoses and hydrants freezing. Even water flowing from the house is freezing on the road and sidewalks. A TARTA bus is on scene to provide a place for firefighters to warm up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
