Firefighters say electrical issue sparked pig farm fire investigation

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - Firefighters from several departments responded to a reported fire at a pig farm in Wood County just before 6:00 am Tuesday.

According to a deputy from the Wood County sheriff's office on the scene, an electrical issue inside the attic likely prompted the call to Fairfield Pork on the 29-hundred block of Custar Road.

A person from the business tells 13abc employees arriving for work noticed smoke inside the facility. There are 2,400 pigs inside. None of them were hurt. No other injuries have been reported.

Deshler, North Baltimore and Milton Township Fire Department responded.
