Four people hospitalized after accident in Perrysburg Township

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Four people are recovering in the hospital after an accident involving a landscape company truck in Perrysburg Township.

First responders got the call just after 2:00 Monday afternoon near the driveway of a home on the 2800 block of East River.

Investigators say Christopher M. Bigelow, 55, was driving an F-450 truck when he went off the road and struck Paul Haase Jr., 47, who was working on a landscaping project on the side of the road for McClurg Lawn & Landscaping.

Troopers say Bigelow, a fellow employee, then struck a parked truck and hit Hector C. Flores, 22.

Bigelow's truck continued through the front of a property and struck a van with Manual Flores-Montalvo, 25, inside. Guadalupe R. Fonseca, 56, was also standing outside of the van when he was also struck.

The truck came to final rest after striking another vehicle occupied by Agostino Santiago-Amador, 45, of Toledo.

Investigators says Amador had to jump into the back seat of his truck to avoid being hit by Bigelow's vehicle.

Hasse Jr. and Flores were transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo. Fonseca and Flores-Montalvo were transported to University of Toledo Medical College.

All of the injuries sustained appear to be non-life threatening.

The crash still remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
