Haunted HalloWeekends at Cedar Point

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG) - This weekend marks the start of an annual tradition. HalloWeekends returns to Cedar Point for its 21st year. The Halloween-themed celebration marks seven weekends of haunted attractions and family-friends activities.

This year's HalloWeekends at Cedar Point features six haunted mazes, six outdoor fright zones, a parade, shows, rides and other Halloween-themed experiences.

The event includes The Great Pumpkin Fest. From 11:00am - 7:00pm, Cedar Point hosts special family-friendly events for young kids and families. These include the witches inside Hexed Spellbound. This haunted maze hosts witched with toned-down spells, specifically for the young ones without all the scares. There's also Camp Spooky. This area of the park includes rides for children and parents to experience together. It's also decorated just for HalloWeekends. The Magical House on Boo Hill features mystery surprises for children in a not-so-scary maze. You can also experience the show "Monster Under My Bed." Cast members explore what could be lurking under your bed in an adventure geared just for kids. Snoopy makes his return at Spooky Snoopy Eye Spy. This activity lets kids can help Snoopy in his quest to find spooky-fun objects. There's also Pigpen’s Corn Box. Thousands and thousands of corn kernels make up this sandbox-like play area for kids. Other favorites at The Great Pumpkin Fest are back, like The Great Pumpkin Parade, Sally’s Craft Corner, Woodstock’s Crazy Cornstalks, Count Snooptacula’s Costume Contest & Show and more.

When nighttime comes, the park transforms into a haunted haven, complete with Screamsters and other creatures roaming freely. Adult attractions like Deprivation aim to scare and entertain guests. The maze is covered in darkness. It tests fears of claustrophobia, strange sounds, uncomfortable textures and unidentified creatures. There's also Fearground Freakshow. The new maze sends guests on a journey into a strange circus. Then, there's Harvest Fear. Park-goers can experience a bountiful harvest fair gone awry in FrontierTown. Another haunted attraction is Midnight Syndicate Live. The performance features horror music-makers Midnight Syndicate in the Jack Aldrich Theatre. They perform their macabre masterpieces live on stage.

Cedar Point also transforms some of its rides for HalloWeekends. Ocean Motion becomes Ocean Potion, featuring special water effects around the swinging boat. The Cedar Creek Mine Ride turns into the Cedar Creek Mystic Mine Ride. It now includes a mysterious covered shed right before the first hill.

Guests will also have the opportunity to experience the Witches' Wheel. It includes a haunting soundtrack and unique lighting. The Friendly Monster (normally Monster) shows guests spooky eyes on each car and includes special music while riding.
