Health department looks into local restaurant after video post to Facebook

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A local restaurant going viral locally on Facebook has gotten the attention of the Lucas County Health Department.

The video appears to show a worker at China Star restaurant at Dorr and Collingwood near the area where food is prepared.

Several viewers shared the video with us here at 13abc. Frank Lin, owner of China Star, tells us, "Late night, almost closing the guy put medicine in the nose look like booger." He explains, the worker was "not supposed to do that in front."

"We get to go out to that facility and say this can not be done and this is why because you can get somebody sick, " says Lucas County Health Commissioner Eric Zgodzinski, "And then it can go to the next step. It might be what we saw on the video and it might be worse next time."

The Health Department says it has given the restaurant until Friday to fix health code violations, including not having a working hand washing sink.
