NEVADA (WTVG) - Pumps were roaring in Nevada, Ohio after heavy rains turned front lawns and backyards into small rivers.
13abc Chief Meteorologist Jay Berschback said between three to four inches of rain fell in that area according to Live Doppler 13000 estimates.
Residents who live on Morrison St. in Wyandot County said they haven't seen anything like this in decades. Basements were soaked and homeowners had to pump high water from their lower levels to outside.
The Wyandot County Sheriff's office said many area highways were closed Friday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning until 7:30pm for Wyandot County. A tornado warning had been issued for Wyandot County earlier in the day with lightning strikes reported every two seconds by 13abc Live Doppler 13000.
