Henry County home destroyed in early morning fire

HENRY COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - Firefighters are on scene of a house fire just west of Grand Rapids in Damascus Township.

It's happening on Henry-Wood County Line Road between SR 65 and County Road Q.

The Damascus Twp. Fire Chief tells 13abc that the original 911 call came in at around 4:30 a.m. from Grand Rapids.

The Chief adds that Grand Rapids Twp Fire took the original 911 call and given the wrong address.

Fire crews on scene say there was about a ten minute delay getting to the scene.

That house was fully involved when firefighters arrived.

The chief says the homeowner left for work at 2 a.m. They do not believe anyone was inside when the fire started.

The state fire marshal has been called to the scene to investigate.

Damascus Township Fire Department and Grand Rapids Township Fire are working on the scene.
