BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WTVG) - According to the City of Bowling Green, solar panels provide individuals with long-term renewable energy.
Their solar project began in January of 2017.
So how is it going and are people actually saving money?
Daryl Stockburger the BG Director of Utilities said, "we have about 40% renewable energy this year from all the resources including the wind, the hydro and the solar."
George Minkkinen said he was an engineer for 40 years. After a tour of the BG solar plant he said he's a little skeptical if the solar panels are actually helping people save money.
"Leaving here today do you know understand?" asked 13abc Reporter Brigette Burnett. "Not fully. . . I have to go back and look at some numbers to see how things have changed."
Stockburger held another tour for interested individuals on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the BG solar site.
