TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - The City of Toledo is officially at the hands of a new leader.
Wade Kapszukiewicz was sworn into office as mayor Tuesday evening with his family by his side in the lobby of One Government Center.
In his remarks, the new mayor discussed how the city can embrace change and work to reinvent itself.
The former Lucas County Treasurer also touched on his new administration and how it needs help from everyone to improve the Glass City.
When it comes to day one in office, the mayor says his first priority is working to make Toledo's infrastructure more business friendly.
"In the past the city has really struggled to get permits out to people who want to create business in the city," said Kapszukiewicz. "It's really been a problem. It's been something that has gotten in the way of development and growing our economy, and I pledged during the campaign we're going to fix that. I want it fixed in the first 90 to 120 days."
Mayor Kapszukiewicz plans to start his first day in office at Government Center Wednesday morning at eight o'clock.
