INDIANAPOLIS (WTVG) - Kareem Hunt leaves the Rockets as the all-time leading rusher on the football team and enters the 2017 NFL Combine carrying an Outstanding Player honor from January's Senior Bowl for the North Team.
Hunt is up about ten pounds from his playing weight in the Senior Bowl as he weighed in at 216 pounds in Indianapolis.
The 40-yard dash seems to be a focus for Hunt when it comes to the on-field evaluations for players here at the NFL Combine. Hunt says while he was at Toledo, he clocked a time of 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash. The Willoughby, Ohio native worked that time down to 4.46 seconds - Hunt noted that was electronic timed - while going through a mock combine during his training at the IMG Academy in Florida.
Hunt wants to get his time closer to 4.4 seconds Friday.
While training at the IMG Academy, Hunt worked with former Cleveland Browns running back Earnest Byner.
