Lake High School student charged after alleged threat

(LAKE TOWNSHIP)--- A student accused of making verbal threats was removed from Lake High School by police today.

Lake Local Schools Superintendent Jim Witt say school officials received information that the student made comments threatening the school. He was taken into custody by Lake Township Police and taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center. No weapon was found and the superintendent says students were not in danger.

School administrators notified parents of the incident through the district’s alert program and on social media.

The student, a 14-year-old male, was charged with inducing panic and will be held until his first court appearance according to police.
