TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Layoffs at Toledo's Jeep production plant have been in the works for months, but now it's official.
About 3,200 workers at the Toledo plant will be idled starting in April. Those workers are expected to be called back to work sometime later this year.
The layoff is the result of the retooling at the plant to make room for the next generation Jeep Wrangler.
Production on the new frame is expected to start before the end of the year when workers are expected to be called back.
