Local tree company, volunteers help rescue stuck cats

TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Two cats in three days! Thanks to some volunteers and a local tree service both animals were saved.

Friday, workers at Humane Ohio saw a Facebook post about a cat stuck in a tree. They called crews with Northwestern Tree Service who came out and rescued the cat.

Sunday night the crew got another report of a cat stuck in a tree near Woodville and Varland.

"We're here to do tree work but also I got the ability to climb up a tree," said Joe Redway of Northwestern Tree Service. "It's not just climbing up a tree. You've got to tie in and do everything else to get up there safely. It's the right thing to do so why not do it?"

The rescued cat ran off as soon as it was rescued.

Redway says rescuing animals runs in his family. His dad owned a tree service and helped rescue many different animals when he worked.
