(COLUMBUS) - Lucas County registered the highest unemployment rate in Northwest Ohio in June.
The State's Department of Job and Family Services released the figures Tuesday.
The June rate for Toledo was 7.6% compared to 5.4% a year ago. In Lucas County, unemployment registered 6.7% compared to 4.9% in June of last year.
Hancock and Wyandot counties had significantly lower rates. Both had rates of 3.9%. Wood, FUlton and Seneca Counties had a rate of 5.0%. The state's highest rate belongs to Meigs County in Southeastern Ohio topping out at 8.2%.
Overall, the state of Ohio had an unemployment rate of 5.4% in June which was up from 5.0% one year ago.
