TOLEDO (13abc Action News) - The cost of playing the cheaper of the two multi-state lottery games is going up.
Starting Saturday, Mega Millions tickets go up to $2, just like Powerball.
That will reportedly increase the game's starting jackpot from $15 million to $40 million.
The new design of the game decreases the number of white balls, but increases the number of red balls.
The odds of winning the jackpot increase from 1 in almost 259 million to 1 in about 303 million.
The drawing nights don't change. Megamillions will still be drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays.
