Meijer recalls packaged produce over listeria concerns

Meijer is recalling packaged vegetables due to possible listeria contamination.

The recall affects 35 products and includes veggies such as broccoli -- cauliflower -- and asparagus.

Pre-set party trays are also said to be affected.

According to a Meijer spokesperson, the items would have been purchased between Sept. 27, 2017 through Oct. 20, 2017. The items would be in plastic containers or foam trays with printed labels.

Listeria can cause serious infections in children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems.

Anyone seeking additional information about the recall has been asked to contact Meijer at 1-800-543-3704.
