TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Meijer is getting ready for the holiday shopping season, adding thousands of general merchandise items to its home delivery service.
The company added gifts, toys, wrapping paper, artificial trees and holiday decorations to home deliver program. Meijer already offers fresh produce, groceries, electronics and other items through the subscription delivery service Shipt.
“We’ve had tremendous success delivering groceries to our customers across the Midwest, so we are very pleased to offer them the convenience of having their holiday gifts delivered to their doorstep as well,” Meijer President & CEO Rick Keyes said. “Whether you are looking for a turkey, toys and gifts or even decorations, our brick–and-mortar stores combined with a personal shopping solution provides something for everyone’s holiday shopping needs.”
Meijer launched its delivery service in conjunction with Shipt in Detroit last September. Since then, the company says it has expanded the service to more than 200 stores in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin, including local Meijer locations in Northwest Ohio. The company says its home delivery service is on-pace to make more than one million deliveries by the end of 2017.
The Shipt service is available for Meijer customers for $99 per year. That price includes unlimited deliveries for orders over $35. Orders under $35 will be charged a $7 delivery fee. For more information on how to sign up for the home delivery service, click the "Shipt Sign Up' link on this page.
