BROOKLYN, Mich. (WTVG) - One of Michigan's biggest attractions announced improvements for the new year on Thursday.
Michigan International Speedway will unveil a new high-end campground, new seating options and ticket packages plus a hospitality area.
Track officials announced the new high-end campground will overlook the first turn with "upscale amenities". Countertop seating is added to rows in the turn one grandstands.
In a news release, track President Rick Brenner said, "the new high-end campground, countertop seating and the new hospitality location will enhance the race day experience."
The campground will feature paved sites, electric/water, permanent restrooms, a private game room and lounge and patio with picnic tables. There will also be a private viewing area of the track.
The track is moving its hospitality area from the turn 4 area to turn 1. MIS says it will remove some seats in turn 1 as part of its facility optimization.
NASCAR returns to the speedway in June and August. ARCA holds its race on June 8. Tickets for the races go on sale February 8.
