ORBIS announces 70 jobs to be eliminated at Perrysburg facility

(PERRYSBURG)--- ORBIS notified employees Monday that it will move the dunnage manufacturing capabilities at its Perrysburg plant to other facilities. The company said in a news release that "this affects about 70 jobs in Perrysburg. Impacted employees have been notified and offered severance benefits and outplacement assistance." The changes are to be completed "on or around Nov. 15, 2018."

ORBIS will continue to operate a design and collaboration center for customers in Perrysburg. The center will employ about 15 people.

The Perrysburg announcement is part of a reorganization of manufacturing facilities. ORBIS makes reusable totes, bulk containers, dunnage racks, pallets and protective dunnage. The company has 2,500 employees at 50 locations across North America and Europe.

The company, a subsidiary of Menasha Corporation, acquired Hinkle Manufacturing of Perrysburg last month.
