Overnight fire rips through family's home

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio (WTVG) - A family of four is without a home after their house caught fire.

This happened on Whitehouse-Spencer near Obee around 11:45pm Saturday.

Firefighters from Whitehouse, Waterville, Providence Township, Monclova and the Air National Guard all teamed up to battle the fire.

Flames were coming out of the roof and both floors of the two-story home when crews arrived.

Firefighters say the family of four who lived in the home were the ones who called 9-1-1. They were able to get out safely.

The American Red Cross has been notified to assist the family.

Firefighters say there is extensive damage to the home, but they aren't sure yet if it is livable.

The fire is not considered suspicious. A cause is still under investigation.
