Palace of Auburn Hills is closing and Bob Seger will be its final event

WTVG - Michigan music icon Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band will help end an era for The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Palace, Palace Sports and Entertainment announced on Thursday that Seger will be the final performer at The Palace on Sept. 23, which will be his 17th sold-out show at the arena, the record for most sold out concerts at the venue.

Conceptualized and built in 1987-88, The Palace has experienced a series of upgrades and renovations during its history, including $40 million of capital improvements made during the ownership of Tom Gores.

No decisions regarding future plans for the building or the property have been made.

Limited tickets for Bob Seger are available for the show.
