Racing for Recovery Van stolen

The Racing for Recovery Van was stolen early Monday morning. The non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation organization was having a sober support New Year's Eve party. Organizers were cleaning up around one in the morning, when they started the van to warm it up for the drive home. That's when Racing for Recovery director Todd Crandall says someone got in the van and drove off.

Later around noon on New Year's Day Sylvania police say they spotted the van which is covered in Racing for Recovery logos, in an apartment complex parking lot across the street from the police station. That's when they were able to arrest 31-year old Adam Purtee of Holland, Ohio. He's been booked into the Lucas County Jail on one count of receiving stolen property.

Todd Crandall from Racing for Recovery says he's willing to offer free treatment to Purtee if he needs it. However drugs or alcohol have not been implicated at all in this case to this point. Racing for recovery has recovered the van which is needed to transport clients to and from the facility for treatment.
