Residents are fed up with destructive kids

Some local residents are fed up with what they call rowdy, destructive and unruly kids. A group of concerned homeowners met with police and the juvenile prosecutor Tuesday to discuss safety. Dozens of people who live near Willys Pkwy and Hoiles voiced their concerns. They say they're tired of the intimidating and truant kids. Many of them questioned why kids aren't held when they're hauled downtown. The juvenile prosecutor explained that the court has adopted a new approach called the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative. Some of these residents don't like the new approach and say they want the kids held accountable for their actions.
