HOLLAND, Ohio (WTVG) - Drivers trying to avoid construction on Airport Highway may need to find a new way around the congestion.
Lucas County engineers tell 13abc that starting October 16, Angola is set to close between King and McCord for a month. This is for bridge work.
Some drivers have been using this stretch of Angola to avoid the resurfacing project on Airport Highway that has been causing significant backups near Spring Meadows shopping center. That work is expected to wrap up by the end of October.
The county suggests that drivers use Hill to get around the Angola closure.
Hill Avenue can also be used as a detour for the construction on Airport, or drivers can use Garden Road.
This work was originally scheduled to start Thursday the 12th, but Lucas County engineers tell 13abc that the rain prompted crews to push back the start date.
