TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Savers Thrift Store in Toledo will close two locations. A company spokesperson confirms the Savers located at 3550 Executive Parkway and the Savers located at 2613 S. Reynolds Rd. will both permanently close.
The closure impacts 111 total employees. A company spokesperson says 75 full-time and 36-part-time positions will be eliminated. Those employees have been notified that both Savers locations will close on Nov. 12, 2017.
The company says it plans to offer special deals, discounts and offers to sell through its existing merchandise.
A Savers spokesperson released the following statement, “Though unfortunate, we have determined that despite our best efforts, local market pressures have made it necessary to close our two locations in Toledo. We are deeply grateful for the community that has supported our stores, and we sincerely hope that our shoppers will visit our other Savers locations in Willowick, Rocky River and Cleveland. Moving forward, Savers will continue to accept donated goods on behalf of Easter Seals Northern Ohio as they continue their mission and great work in the community.”
Savers helps support the Easter Seals mission in the community. A spokesperson for the organization released the following statement, "“Easter Seals Northern Ohio is pleased to have a 12 year partnership with Savers. It is unfortunate that Savers will be closing their two Toledo area stores on November 12th. Although the stores are closing, Easter Seals will continue to accept clothing and household donations at our Donation Center located at 5929 W. Sylvania Ave. in Toledo and at local Donation Drop Spots. Easter Seals Northern Ohio will continue to provide high quality programs for children and adult with disabilities in our community.”
