Search for stolen bicycles ends in gunfire

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A Toledo mother and her boyfriend became the target of gunfire after trying to get her son's stolen bicycles back.

According to Toledo police documents, the mother witnessed two suspects steal her son's bicycles from her home on Ravine Park early Tuesday morning. The mother and her boyfriend followed the suspects in a car, before losing site of them.

According to a police report, the pair spotted the suspects on Consaul. The mother and her boyfriend reportedly approached the suspects. That's when on of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot multiple times.

The mother and her boyfriend were not hurt. The suspects rode off on the bicycles.

Toledo police are looking for information on the suspects. One is described as a black male, 18 years old, wearing a red shirt, dark sweats, and a dark jacket. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5'9, 150 lbs, wearing all dark clothing. We are also trying to recover a blue, grey, and black Mongoose mountain bike.
