TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - One lane of U.S. 23 northbound is back open after a semi fire shut down the busy highway Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the fire closed U.S. 23 northbound at the I-475 split around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Dispatchers tell 13abc the tractor was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived on scene.
The driver made it out of the truck without any injuries. At this point there's no word on how the semi-truck caught fire.
Viewers reported seeing heavy black smoke in the area and major slow downs in traffic.
