Senator Brown to oppose health bill in Toledo

(TOLEDO) - Senator Sherrod Brown will appear on Toledo Monday to protest the Republican plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

The Democrat plans to appear at a late morning rally at the Genacross Lutheran Services Care Center. He will "stand with northwest Ohio families, patients and nursing home staff to outline the harmful effects of the Senate plan" according to a news release.

Brown suggests that "many families will take an extra hit on top of the increased nursing home costs. Ohioans between the ages of 50 and 64 would be charged up to five times more for their own insurance..." according to the release. Brown says more than half of Ohioans in nursing homes rely on Medicaid for assistance.
